The CCSD team has implemented specific support for project leaders who are funded under the Priority Research Programmes and Equipment (PEPR) scheme. At the heart of this approach are the HAL collections, which are a vital tool for streamlining publication management and boosting their visibility.
At the request of the CNRS National Programmes Mission, the CCSD has been coordinating since 2023 the creation of HAL collections for Priority Research Programmes and Equipment (PEPR). The system put in place includes presenting HAL and its services to project leaders, providing support for customizing and configuring the collection’s website, and offering training for staff.
Around thirty collections have thus been created, including, for example, that of the PEPR SPIN, or that of the PEPR TRACCS – TRAnsformer la modélisation du Climat pour les services ClimatiqueS.
Within each programme, the operational breakdown is organized by project. As the ANR is responsible for managing PEPR, the information entered in the ‘ANR Project’ metadata when depositing to HAL is used to populate a collection. This enables publications from all projects associated with the programme to be gathered together.
The collection promotes the work funded by the programme and helps to build its digital identity.
The HAL Monitor data visualisation tool provides project leaders with access to indicators presented in the form of user-friendly charts and graphs.
Furthermore, the program’s institutional website can be automatically populated with publication lists thanks to APIs or the HAL plugin for WordPress (see, for example, the PEPR O2R or NumPEx websites).
What is a PEPR ?
As part of the France 2030 plan, funding is dedicated to PEPR (Programmes et équipements prioritaires de recherche). PEPRs are a key research funding programme designed to accelerate progress. The initiative aims to foster technological champions in areas that are strategic to the French economy and sovereignty, including technology, economics, society and the environment.
The CCSD’s systematic approach to creating collections is part of a comprehensive strategy that enables each programme to increase the visibility, value and sustainability of its publications within the scientific landscape.
