As part of the French Digital Republic Law, the Directorate of Administrative and Financial Services of the Prime Minister’s Office (DSAF), in partnership with the CNRS, the CCSD and the Interministerial Digital Directorate (DINUM), provides public administrations with the documentation-administrative.gouv.fr. platform.
In line with the open data approach, this platform aims to facilitate the opening up and sharing of documents produced or held by government departments. As the repository for textual information, the platform has four main objectives. :
- to share knowledge with as many people as possible;
- to increase the transparency of public action;
- to enable the reuse of textual data;
- and to preserve documents in a sustainable and secure manner.
It is managed by the Prime Minister’s Administrative and Financial Services Department.
The use of HAL’s technological base
documentation-administrative.gouv.fr is a replica of hal.science. It uses the same software base as HAL and relies on the CCSD’s infrastructure for hosting servers and data, with a specific database adapted to administrative documents.
In addition, the HAL model favours the pooling of resources and adapts to the objective of disseminating administrative documents produced and held by state services.
