The submission form for a conference paper on Sciencesconf has been updated. It now includes metadata that allows authors to associate a licence with their submission.
When submitting a communication proposal to a conference managed on the Sciencesconf platform, you are now offered the option of associating a licence with the file you upload.
By attaching a Creative Commons licence, you can specify the conditions under which your document may be copied, distributed, modified or used. Their modularity — the ability to choose whether or not to authorise commercial uses, modifications, and so on — makes them suitable for a wide variety of needs.
If you select the option to export the communication to HAL, the chosen licence will be automatically made available in the repository. The metadata is easily identifiable and understandable by digital tools such as search engines, applications and databases. If the metadata contains a Creative Commons licence, these tools can integrate the communication into distribution or reuse processes that are compatible with the defined rights.
In practice
How metadata is displayed depends on the settings for the conference website, which are set by the organising team.
It is displayed by default for all conferences, including those created before this update was implemented.
The organising team has the option to make selecting a licence mandatory in the submission form.
