Deposit: implementation of a new interface
  • Ergonomics has changed: a single page divided into sections (file repository, document description, authors metadata and affiliations) with a easier navigation between the sections. Two types of display: a simple view that displays only required metadata and a detailed view with all the options and metadata (see Views).
  • Optimization of automatic retrieval of metadata to complete the repository from the pdf file, identifiers like the DOI, etc.
  • Less required metadata
  • Notifications are sent to warn the authors of new deposits.

The cited litterature is extracted from the pdf files: all the pdf files were processed (almost 500 000). Each record is analyzed to indicate if the fulltex is available in HAL or in free access.

Creation of the triplestore : this portal gives access to the database containing structured data in RDF format. The database contains all the data present in the open archive HAL as well as in AuréHAL.

Evolution of the listing of research structures: the data model of the listing of research structures has been extended to take into account the groupings of laboratories and the groupings of institutions (COMUE for example)

Link with ORCID : the connection to HAL with an ORCID account is implemented.

Improvement of the SWORD import:

  • A record can be supplemented with a file (the import is no longer rejected because of duplicate detection).
  • It is possible to import on behalf of an another user (header On-Behalf-of).

Creation of an API for the affiliations: it allows to find the affiliation for an author’s name. This new feature was done in partnership with the Inria SEISM unit. The API is strongly related to the new deposit interface.

Submission and mail preferences: preference screens are now available to users and allow to predefine their submission preferences and set preferences for receiving email alerts. It is strongly related to the new deposit interface.

HAL and Dissemin : collaboration with the Dissemin team to allow SWORD import in HAL Dissemin detects papers behind pay-walls and invites their authors to upload them in an open repository.

DCTerms export : new export format for a HAL bibliographic record

Enhancement of the bibliographic records with a link to the existing fulltext in an open repository or through ISTEX.

New document type “software”: this new document type will be available in 2018. It is developped in partnership with Software Heritage

Enhanced interoperability with HAL: links with AURéHAL during paper submission, SWORD imports of the papers in HAL

Development of a gateway with AzurColloque

Development of a new service, SciencesCall, dedicated to the management of the call for projects

Improvements of the ergonomics for managing a conference

Evolution of the evaluation grids

General stabilization and code quality

Improvements of the ergonomics : new sorting options, more aids for form filling, improved autocompletion, new controls for the invitation of reviewers

Evolutions of the mailing module : attached documents, general ergonomics

Infrastructure and organization

  • Move to new premises
  • Separation of the test, pre-production and production platforms
  • Increased capacity of different services
  • Taking into account new services that are sometimes greedy for computing power
