Submit a conference paper on Sciencesconf and choose to have it automatically sent to HAL

Written by Agnès Magron

You submit your paper to a conference and notice that it is managed on the Sciencesconf platform (hint: the conference website address ends with sciencesconf.org). Do you know that you can choose to automatically submit it to HAL?

However, two conditions are required:

  • The organisers must have configured the website so that submitters have access to this automatic submission feature,
  • the file you submit must contain the full text of the communication (not just the abstract) or a poster.

If you have chosen the transfer (see user documentation), your paper will be automatically imported into HAL at the end of the conference. As with any file submission, it will be checked by the moderation teams before being published online.

If you maintain a HAL CV, your publications list will be automatically updated.

Ease the organizing team’s workload

Automatic import of conference papers is already possible, but currently depends on the organising team on Sciencesconf. This requires them to first obtain the authors’ consent to open access distribution of their work in HAL. Allowing authors to choose their own transfer will also make life easier for the organisers!

This development is a further step in strengthening the existing links between Sciencesconf and HAL. By streamlining the submission process, it is a real time saver for both authors and organising teams. This feature is part of Work Package 6 of the Equipex+ HALiance project, which aims to provide new ways of feeding content into HAL.
