Episciences is now a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The mission of this international organization is to define best practices in scientific publishing ethics, and to help the stakeholders in this ecosystem to achieve them.
COPE provides clear guidelines on best practices in the publication and management of scientific articles. By joining, a publisher, journal or platform such as Episciences demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that published content meets high standards of scientific integrity.
Membership applications are assessed against the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and the Core Practices developed by COPE.
The Episciences platform is not a publisher: it joins as a “corporate”, i.e. as an organization associated with scholarly publications.
Episciences will be able to draw on the resources made available to COPE members, to help hosted journals and advise them on how to comply with best practice in scientific integrity.
COPE membership is a commitment to transparency and trust, and aims to strengthen the credibility and reputation of the journals published by Episciences. It also consolidates the platform’s position in the diamond open access scientific publishing ecosystem.
